54th Foundation Day of Tihu College is Celebrated
Tihu College, a premier institution of higher education in the district of Nalbari, celebrated its 54th foundation Day on July 4, 2016. At the beginning of the auspicious occasion three newly constructed rooms of the college were inaugurated. Mr. Pabindra Deka, MLA, Patacharkuchi LAC inaugurated the Gymnasium Hall, constructed under the Golden Jubilee Fund and the Late Hemchandra Talukdar Memorial Hall, donated by Dr. Kishore. Kr. Talukdar, Principal, Tihu College. The Office of Tihu College Studentsí Union, donated by Tihu College Teachersí Unit was inaugurated by Mr. Dasarath. Pathak, President, Governing Body, Tihu College.
Later, a meeting, presided over by Mr. Dasarath Pathak, was held in which Mr. Banikanta Sarma, President, Tihu College Alumni Association lit the earthen lamp. While addressing the guests Dr. Kishore Kr. Talukdar, Principal of the college, gave a brief account of various activities of the college. He also highlighted the outstanding achievements of the students in the last HS and TDC final Examinations. As a Chief Guest Mr. Pabindra Deka said that the development of an area basically depends upon its academic development. He focussed on the significant rise of women education in the state. Recalling the bygone days Mr. Banikanta Sarma shared his views with all present in the meeting. Mr. Anil Goswami, Mr. Prabhakar Das, Mr. Govinda Ch. Bhagabati, Mr. Chanakya Charan Kalita, Mr. Dhiren Kalita and Dr. Bhabesh Ch. Choudhury, Vice-Principal, Tihu College spoke in the meeting and offered suggestions for the uplift of the college.
